@anildash As a student, big agree. My middle/high school switched from MacBook Airs to cheap Chromebooks. We used to use iMovie, GarageBand, etc for projects—now Google Slides is as creative as software gets. Coding has to be in the browser, with devtools disabled. The lockdown is real.

@anildash The 10.2” iPad, with multitouch, cameras, mics, an excellent chip, Apple Pencil & Smart Keyboard support, is $299 (completely on par with Chromebooks). Apple Edu isn’t overpriced anymore—but locking down every feature of ChromeOS is too appealing, even at the cost of creativity.
