The “always-on” culture is bleeding from companies to schools, stress/anxiety/depression with it. It’s severely hurting students, incl. me.

2014: 35% of seniors at my school were severely depressed. 20% of total considered suicide, 10% attempted. 60/600 seniors attempted suicide.

With so much online, students are expected to be “at school” too much. Assignments in the night, emails/texts from teachers. It’s never off.

I don’t know one student that isn’t sleep-deprived. Huge curriculum acceleration + expectations → more work/stress/anxiety → v little sleep.
